Solar Panel Installation Refund Policy
This policy applies to solar panel installation services in Blackpool supplied by Jaimee Lee K P O'Toole trading as Solar Jaimee Lee (trading as Solar Jaimee Lee).
Our address is 19 Beresford Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY1 3RF. You can contact us at admin@solarjaimeelee.co.uk.
Your cancellation rights
If you are a consumer and enter into a contract with us online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you normally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
The 14-day period normally starts on the day after the contract is made for a service contract. You may cancel without giving a reason during this period.
To cancel, email admin@solarjaimeelee.co.uk with:
- Your name and address
- The date of the contract
- Details of the solar panel installation service
- A clear statement that you wish to cancel
You may use your own wording. Sending your cancellation notice before the 14-day period ends is sufficient.
The statutory 14-day cancellation right generally applies to consumers and may not apply to contracts entered into wholly or mainly for business purposes.
Starting work during the cancellation period
You may ask us to begin the installation service during the 14-day cancellation period. This request should be made clearly, preferably in writing.
If you cancel after work has started, we may charge a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the time you told us that you were cancelling. This amount will reflect the part of the installation service already carried out compared with the full contract.
If the service has been fully completed during the cancellation period after you expressly asked us to start, and you acknowledged that you would lose your cancellation right once the service was fully performed, you may no longer have a statutory right to cancel.
Equipment ordered to your specification
Some equipment may be ordered or prepared to your specific requirements. Where equipment is made to your specification or clearly personalised, the statutory cancellation right for that equipment may not apply.
We will explain any relevant cancellation restriction before you are committed to the contract. You may still have rights where equipment is faulty, not as described or does not conform to the contract.
Deposits
Any deposit will be treated as part-payment towards the agreed installation service and equipment.
If you cancel within a statutory cancellation period, we will refund the deposit subject to any lawful proportionate charge for work already carried out and any applicable exception for equipment ordered to your specification.
A deposit will not be retained as a penalty. If you cancel outside a statutory cancellation period, any refund will depend on the contract terms, the work already carried out, equipment ordered and your legal rights.
Refund timing
Where a refund is due, we will make it without undue delay and normally within 14 days of:
- The day we receive your cancellation notice, where no goods need to be returned
- The day we receive returned goods, where goods must be returned
- The day you provide evidence that goods have been returned, if this is earlier
- The day we agree that you are entitled to a refund for another reason
We will normally refund the original payment method unless we agree another method with you. We will not charge a fee for making the refund.
Where the law permits a deduction for work already carried out, equipment ordered to your specification or damage caused beyond what is necessary to inspect equipment, we will explain the deduction.
Faulty or unsatisfactory workmanship
We aim to provide installation services with reasonable care and skill, as required by the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If you believe our workmanship is faulty or the service does not conform to the contract, contact us promptly at admin@solarjaimeelee.co.uk and explain the problem. Please provide photographs or other information where available.
We will normally be given the opportunity to repair or put right faulty workmanship first, at no extra cost to you and within a reasonable time.
If repair is impossible, is not completed within a reasonable time, causes you significant inconvenience or does not resolve the problem, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. A price reduction or refund may take account of the use you have had from the service where the law permits.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights.
